Co-defensive coordinators talk progression
The West Virginia coaching staff continues to piece together the defense this spring and co-defensive coordinators Joe DeForest and Keith Patterson are stressing effort and energy during the early stages and the rest will fall into place.
"It's like a teaching a new language, you have to learn the new language to eliminate some of the thinking after the ball's snapped. You want to get all that done before the ball is snapped, so that's the number one thing we are working on fundamentally every day," Patterson said. "And there are going to be days where you don't execute technique and fundamentals every day, but if you bring passion and every day you can overcome a lot of that."
