Slaughter has seen improvement
Earlier this week Tyler Anderson made waves when the new depth chart released and his name was sitting atop the defensive end position. But at practice he was back at his familiar spot at outside linebacker. So his positional coach, Erik Slaughter, met with the media to clarify the redshirt junior's role, among other topics with his unit.
Anderson has been working at both the BUCK, the hybrid linebacker and defensive line position, and off the edge at defensive end but the move to the front will only be in a situational role in an attempt to get more speed on the field. The position will be held by Will Clarke in the base packages, but when Anderson enters the game off the edge it allows the Mountaineers to basically use two hybrid linebackers in each set.
