Five Keys To The Win: Baylor
No. 7/9 West Virginia (4-0, 1-0) defeated No. 24/25 Baylor (3-1, 0-1) 70-63 in an historic first ever Big 12 Conference game for the Mountaineers and here are five keys to the thrilling victory in the conference opener.
5. West Virginia putting some space between. With all the momentum heading into the locker room after a huge touchdown pass as time expired in the first half, the West Virginia defense came out in the second half and was able to keep the Bears out of the end zone on their first two drives of the half and allowed the Mountaineers to build a 21-point advantage. In a game where there were few bright spots on defense, the Mountaineers were able to get pressure on Nick Florence and force some bad throw and a punt and a missed field goal. That 21-point lead would serve to be huge as the Mountaineers would need every one of those points to secure the win.
