Starting in the secondary as a true freshman isn't easy, especially in a major college football conference such as the Big 12. But that's exactly what's happened with free safety Karl Joseph, who believes he's shown a lot of growth over the course of the season.

"I've definitely matured a lot, just being able to get time on the field like that and I've definitely grown up a lot," he said.

Joseph came into West Virginia with the goal of seeing the field, and he's more than surpassed that as the youngster has developed into one of the standouts for the Mountaineers defensive unit.
