Rivalry Renewed

Bob Huggins recalls the matchups with Virginia Tech during his time as a player at West Virginia as being every bit as big and intense as the more-known Backyard Brawl with Pittsburgh.

Huggins scored a career-high 28-points against the Hokies in 1976, a 74-73 West Virginia victory, and he remembers the passion and intensity that came along with the games and believes many of the fans especially those in the southern parts of the state also remember the strong feelings associated with this series.
