It was a disappointing end to a season that began with such high hopes for West Virginia (7-6, 4-5) as the Mountaineers were dominated 38-14 by Syracuse (8-5, 5-2) in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl Saturday.

"It's hard to pinpoint one thing. Did a poor job of overcoming adversity, there was a lot of adversity and we just did a poor job of it," head coach Dana Holgorsen said.
