WVSports.com's Football Review: Middle Third





In this second edition of WVSports.com's Football Review, No. 7 West Virginia Mountaineers travelled to the Lone Star State to embrace their first Big XII road excursion: a date with No. 9 Texas.

The Big XII formally welcomed West Virginia to the conference on October 28, 2011. But the true inauguration came 345 days later, when the Mountaineers travelled to Austin, Texas.


The Longhorns are not a dictator in the conference, but at the very least a monarch. Texas operates its own national network alongside ESPN, an endeavor that yields approximately $10 million a year and a countless amount of local exposure.
