JUCO players could be quick fix for WVU

Going into 2013, West Virginia has holes to fill. With a defense coming off a bad season, upgrades are certainly needed there, and offensively the team loses eight of eleven starters. Now February 6th, is National Signing Day for High School Seniors, but those aren't guys necessarily that be of immediate help. Players that serve as a 'quick fix' for college programs across the country are incoming Junior College athletes. If recent history is any indication, JUCO players have been key contributors in all of major college football.

Start this year and stay in the Big 12. The conference, co-champion, Kansas State Wildcats had 29 total former JUCO players on their roster en route to a Fiesta Bowl Berth. Key starters in Meshak Williams, Angelo Pease, Jarard Milo, Nigel Malone, Vai Lutui and Alan Chapman all were former JUCO stars. Malone and Chapman combined for 10 interceptions on the season while slowing down opposing Big 12 offenses. Those guys help elevate the K-State roster from a Pinstripe Bowl team in 2010 to an upset loss away from a National Title berth in 2012.
