Post Signing Day Notebook: Overview

West Virginia head coach Dana Holgorsen announced his second full signing class and first as a member of the Big 12 Conference Wednesday and here's a collection of notes and thoughts about the collection of prospects.

The Rankings

Overall, West Virginia finished with the No. 25 ranked class in the country according to the Rivals.com rankings, its highest finish in recent history. For comparisons sake, the Mountaineers finished 48th last season, 47th in 2011 and 27th in 2010 and 2009. The Mountaineers were able to sign two four-star prospects in Shelton Gibson and Darrien Howard, while the bulk of the class was comprised of three-star prospects with a total of 19 signed, while three more remain unsigned at the moment.
