A 3-and-3 record likely would've gained the Mountaineers a reprieve at the beginning of the year: road victories at Norman and Waco were unlikely, while Oklahoma State's visit brought the preseason favorite to Morgantown. But while .500 is the current state, the alternating route between wins and losses has summoned nervous energy to the Mountaineer fan base.
Maryland was never supposed to be one of those losses, and the Cowboys were not supposed to get upended at Milan Puskar.
