On Friday evening the Mountaineer coaching staff picked up their 14th commit of the 2014 class when Wesson (Miss) Copiah-Lincoln linebacker Edward Muldrow finally confirmed what many had speculated for a few months. "Can't wait to be a Mountaineer come this January," Muldrow wrote on Facebook. "From the SEC to the Big 12. God is good."
Muldrow was high on the Mountaineers but after his official visit during WVU's opening day game against William & Mary the 6-foot-4, 225-pound defensive standout was a little more open about the possibilities of committing to the Mountaineers. After his official visit to Morgantown Muldrow told WVSports.com that his relationship with WVU defensive line coach Erik Slaughter could be a reason he would one day join the Mountaineer family.
"He's great. He really loves his players. He coaches them hard, but loves them harder," he said. "He'd probably be one of the main reasons I would commit."
Originally a commit out of Snellville, GA to South Carolina for the class of 2013, Muldrow made his way eventually to Copiah-Lincoln community College. Once the Georgia native completes his classes in December he will be able to enroll in January having two years of eligibility to finish in two years
Muldrow eventually selected the Mountaineers over offers from Arizona State, Colorado, Iowa State, Kansas, Oregon, Utah State and Washington.
