Spring Practice Report Day 10
Although the sun was shining, practice No. 10 of the spring greeted the Mountaineers with chilly temperatures and a constant gust of wind blowing across Mountaineer Field Tuesday afternoon making it the first of the season that actually resembled this time of year in the Mountain State.
After the initial stretching, focus shifted to special teams where the team divided up with the punters and return men taking one side of the field, while the remainder of the team took the other.
The punters, Corey Smith and Mike Molinari, would rotate back and forth sky kicking the ball to the return men, Tavon Austin and Brodrick Jenkins, in an effort to field the ball. Head Coach Dana Holgorsen made his presence known during this portion of the drills, as he kept close to the returners and attempted to intimidate them as they fielded the punts. He even took it a step further mid-way through the drill, as he stepped in and fielded one, catching the ball and then taking off up the left sideline.
