DeForest pleased with defensive effort

When co-defensive coordinator Joe DeForest accepted a position on the West Virginia coaching staff, he immediately began discussing the importance of flying to the ball and forcing turnovers in the new 3-4 scheme. And that was on display in the annual Gold-Blue game, as the defense capitalized on the new strategy forcing four turnovers en route to a 43-34 victory over the offense.

DeForest spent last season coaching at Oklahoma State, which led the nation in turnovers with 44 and it's something he hoped to bring to Morgantown with him. And if the spring game is any indication, the Mountaineers are well on their way.
