Walters learning on the fly
Sean Walters elected to enroll in January to get a head start on his college career and become acclimated with his new home in Morgantown. However, he didn't expect that three practices into his first set of spring drills he would be facing a position change as well.
So not only was the freshman tasked with the customary adjustments that come with learning a college defense and the step up to the collegiate level, he was asked to acclimate to his new position as the safety hybrid STAR linebacker.
"Basically just getting the terminology down, just two back sets, three back sets by alignment, every play call and things like that," he said. "It was a big transition but it ended up working well."
