West Virginia head coach Dana Holgorsen summed up West Virginia's 52-44 season ending loss to Iowa State as disappointing end to a disappointing season. Not many would argue.
The Mountaineers gave away a 17-point lead in the fourth quarter to fall to the Cyclones in triple overtime, leaving West Virginia limping into the off-season at 4-8. Holgorsen said he thought that the players had two good weeks of preparation leading into the contest and during the game the effort was much better than the matchup against Kansas but ultimately four turnovers doomed the Mountaineers.
