Funderburk follows heart, commits to WVU




West Virginia added its 20th commitment in the class of 2014 Friday when Washington (D.C.) Friendship Collegiate Academy safety Daejuan Funderburk decided to follow his heart and pledge to the Mountaineers.

Funderburk, 6-foot-1, 188-pounds, selected West Virginia over his other finalist Miami but also held offers from Wisconsin, Tennessee, Nebraska, Georgia Tech, Arizona and several other programs due several reasons including his relationship with the coaching staff.

"The coaching staff took me in under their wings and really treated me like a son. I love the area around Morgantown, it's real live with the fans," he said. "They really bring the best out of you."
