Rita Rodriguez: 'Be Proud of Rich'
MORGANTOWN--Most West Virginians were shocked and dismayed when native son Rich Rodriguez resigned as head football coach at West Virginia University, his alma mater, to take the same position at the University of Michigan. At least one person can't understand the disappointment. "It's something all West Virginians should be proud of," Rita Rodriguez said on Thursday.
The wife of the new Wolverines coach was in Monongalia County Circuit Court to attend a hearing on several motions before Judge Robert Stone. Wearing a trendy black business ensemble that was offset by her flowing blond hair, Rodriguez was hard to miss as she observed the proceedings with Kerry Gibson, the wife of former WVU defensive backs coach and current Michigan secondary coach Tony Gibson. After the hearing, Rodriguez expressed her displeasure at fans who have questioned her husband's integrity since his departure.
