Following the future: Week 13

JUCO Report:

Clarksdale (Miss.) Coahoma Community College finished its season 1-8. West Virginia commit Sylvester Townes has taken trips to Kentucky and USF in the past two weeks but still remains firm in his original commitment to WVU. His earlier trip to Texas Tech was postponed and there is an opportunity that it could be reschedule but time is starting to run out.

Wesson (Miss.) Copiah-Lincoln Community College (7-2) finished just a game short of making the playoffs this season. A recent offer from Arkansas has Edward Muldrow thinking about taking an official visit. Muldrow is planning on enrolling early and without any of those visits scheduled it becomes more likely that he will not take any.

Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College (7-4) Fell to Butler Community College 24-21. Hutchinson rallied late but Butler was able to hit a late field goal to win the Region VI championship. Despite the loss Hutchinson will face Dakota College in the 5th annual Salt City Bowl on December 7th. Cornerback Jaylon Myers ended the season as the leader for interceptions in the NJCAA.

Woodland Hills (Ca.) Pierce College (8-2) bounced back in their season finale 41-16 against Glendale. Offensive lineman Justin Scott is still currently out for the next week or so with a bone bruise but expects to be back before the playoffs start. Scott says that he will also be taking a few official visits before finally enrolling at WVU. Tennessee and Michigan State are possible destinations for Scott. Pierce will take on Chaffey (9-1) in the American Championship Bowl on November 23rd.

Prep Report:

Miami (Fla.) Booker T. Washington (12-0) won their first two round games against Glades Central (40-18) and University (45-17). Washington will take on 11-1Cocoa on November 29th in the state semifinal game. Lamar Parker had two receptions for 20 yards in the blow-out win against Glades Central and three receptions for 80 yards and one touchdown in the win over University. Wide receiver Lamar Parker has all ready taken his official visit to Morgantown back in mid October. Parker ended his regular season with 30 receptions, 550 yards and six touchdowns.

Baltimore (Md.) Dunbar (9-3) dropped their second round match-up to Patterson 14-0. Quarterback William Crest will now work on getting himself ready for the 2014 season at West Virginia. Crest had mentioned that he could take additional official visits but at this point it appears the only official he will take will be to West Virginia, if at all.

Avon (OH) High School (12-1) lost in the quarterfinals to undefeated Highland 24-21 with a field goal in the fourth quarter to break a 21-21 tie. The Avon Eagles and offensive line Walter Rauterkus has a very successful season. Rauterkus isn't looking at any other school and has said on multiple occasions that he is not interested in taking any other visits.

Elkton (Md.) Eastern Christian Academy (8-3) bounced back with a big win against Baltimore's Calvert Hall 48-19. Offensive lineman Jamie Herr and the Honey Badgers season will come to an end on November 28th when they face another Baltimore team in St. Frances Academy. Herr was in town for the WVU and Texas Big 12 match-up two weeks ago but hasn't scheduled his official visit to Morgantown yet.

Springfield (Oh.) High School (1-9) did not make the playoffs after their regular season came to an end. Linebacker Davonte James isn't planning on taking any additional visits beside the one to Morgantown that he says he will likely take place January.

Monroeville (Pa.) Gateway (8-3) season ended after a second round playoff loss. Wide receiver Ricky Rogers will likely by in attendance for West Virginia's season finale against Iowa State on November 30th but hasn't scheduled his official visit to Morgantown yet.

Niles (Oh.) McKinley (5-5) did not make the playoffs after their regular season came to an end. Krok is still not scheduled to take an additional official visit, except for the official he will take to West Virginia.

Morganown (W.Va.) High School (8-3) lost its second straight game in University in two weeks. Offensive lineman Amanii Brown and 2015 Athlete Stone Wolfley both fell short in their quest to avenge a regular season loss to University. Wolfley being a junior prospects won't take any official visits. Brown hasn't taken his official visit yet but is firm to WVU and should take that visit some point after the season.

Oviedo (Fla.) High School (6-4) did not make the playoffs after their regular season came to an end. Defensive lineman Tyree Owens has not schedule any official visits and should join quite a few of the other commits in an official visit after the Mountaineer's season is over.

Miami (Fla.) Coral Reef (6-4) Coral Reefs regular season is over and they did not make the playoffs. West Virginia commit Jacob McCrary took his official visit to Morgantown this past weekend and has no other visits scheduled at this time. McCrary finished his season with 28 receptions for 505 yards and four touchdowns. The talented wide receiver also had a kick return for a touchdown on special teams.

Jensen Beach (Fla.) High School (5-5) regular season is over and they did not make the playoffs. Linebacker Xavier Preston took his official visit to West Virginia back in early September.

Miami (Fla.) Jackson (5-5) Finished the season and did not make the playoffs. Junior wide receiver Jovon Durante finished the season with 18 receptions for 498 yards and eight touchdowns. Durante also had an interception of defense and a return for a touchdown on special teams. Durante has taken multiple visits to different colleges through-out the season but hasn't wavered on his commitment to WVU to this point.
