Miami (Fla.) Columbus 2024 defensive end Daylen Russell wasn't a stranger to interest from West Virginia.

The Mountaineers had been recruiting the 6-foot-3, 255-pound, defensive end for around a month led by wide receivers coach Bilal Marshall.
