West Virginia has added another playmaker to its pass catching core after securing the commitment of Savannah (Ga.) New Hampstead wide receiver Sam Brown.

Brown, 6-foot-3, 185-pounds, had been committed to Central Florida since September but the Mountaineers never gave up in their pursuit of the wide receiver. West Virginia initially offered Brown in the spring and were involved throughout led by the efforts of inside wide receivers coach Travis Trickett.

The Rivals.com three-star prospect collected scholarship offers from Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Oregon, Virginia, Maryland, Purdue, Kentucky and Colorado, among others, but West Virginia was a factor from the start.
