Marcus Platt Commits to West Virginia

West Virginia picked up their 16th verbal commitment of the year on Thursday as running back/defensive back Marcus Platt chose the Mountaineers. Platt, from Venice, Florida visited West Virginia this past weekend and decided on WVU at that time.
Marcus chose West Virginia over offers from Nebraska, Clemson, and Western Kentucky. He was also heavily recruited by Georgia and several other highly regarded programs.

The 6-0 185 pound athlete had 1,080 yards rushing and scored nine touchdowns on the season. On defense Platt had six interceptions, 12 passes broken up, he caused two fumbles on the year and recovered three fumbles overall. For his effort Marcus was named the Class 5-A District 15 Player of The Year.
