Miami QB transfer Allison selects WVU

West Virginia has added another transfer at the quarterback position when former Miami quarterback Jack Allison committed to the Mountaineers.

Allison, 6-foot-5, 181-pounds, was a four-star prospect out of high school in the 2016 class and selected the Hurricanes over offers from Alabama, Missouri, Tennessee and a number of others. However, Allison elected to leave Miami in April after sitting out last season.

The signal caller was reportedly down to West Virginia and attending Mississippi Gulf Coast C.C. and reports had indicated that he had selected to go the junior college route. However, Allison will attend West Virginia as first reported by Mike Casazza of the Charleston Gazette-Mail.

Allison then confirmed the news by tweeting out a picture of himself in a Mountaineers uniform.

The quarterback will have three years of eligibility remaining after sitting out this season due to NCAA transfer rules and joins a position room that consists of Florida transfer Will Grier, redshirt sophomore Chris Chugunov and incoming sophomore David Isreal.

WVSports.com will have more on this breaking news.
