Sills has had a high-publicized recruitment since he committed to Southern California and Lane Kiffin when he was still in middle school but elected to open the process in the last couple weeks.
Sills at 6-foot-3, 200 pounds has prototypical size for a quarterback and put his skills on display in the Mountaineers 7-on-7 tournament earlier this summer displaying both accuracy and arm strength. Wide receivers coach Lonnie Galloway served as the lead recruiter for Sills.
In that tournament, Sills led his team to the championship and was accurate throughout the day as he distributed the ball to his teammates.
Current Mountaineers Daikiel Shorts and Wendell Smallwood also played at Eastern Christian Academy.
A Rivals.com four-star prospect, Sills also held offers from Michigan, USC, Boston College, Virginia Tech, Clemson, Maryland and several others. He is rated as a 5.8 recruit and the 14th overall pro-style quarterback prospect.
