Some would call it fate when Jock Sanders, a lightly recruited athlete from Florida, called the West Virginia coaching staff in early September 2006 to announce his intentions to become a Mountaineer.

Because right at the moment the phone rang with Sanders on the other end, head coach Rich Rodriguez and lead recruiter Butch Jones were actually in the midst of watching his film and discussing how they could utilize his skill set in the program.
