A duo of former Mountaineers helped lead the Oakland Raiders to a key victory Sunday night against the Miami Dolphins.

After missing last week’s 34-14 loss to the Buffalo Bills, safety Karl Joseph returned to the starting lineup Sunday in the team’s 27-24 win over the Miami Dolphins and tallied four tackles.

The second-year pro now has 50 tackles on the year which ties for the most on the team.

Joseph’s teammate, former Mountaineer defensive star Bruce Irvin, finished with four tackles, a half sack and a forced a key fumble on Dolphins running back Kenyan Drake in the second quarter which led to an Oakland touchdown that gave the Raiders the lead for good. Irvin now has 31 combined tackles this season and 2.5 sacks.

The Philadelphia Eagles stayed red hot with a 51-23 win over the Denver Broncos to improve to an NFL-best 8-1 on the season.

In the win, Eagles cornerback Rasul Douglas played 37 snaps on defense and six snaps on special teams, coming up with two tackles and two passes defensed.

Eagles linebacker Najee Goode played 13 snaps on defense this week compared to last week’s one. He played a combined 36 snaps between defense and special teams and had one tackle.

On the other side of the ball, Eagles running back Wendell Smallwood played just six offensive snaps and carried the ball five times for 25 yards. It’s likely that Smallwood will play less of a role in Philadelphia's offense with the team acquiring former Dolphins running back Jay Ajayi last week.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Charles Sims did not carry the ball for the third time in the last four games in a 30-10 loss to the New Orleans Saints. Sims played 18 snaps and caught two passes for 11 yards.

In the same contest, Buccaneers safety Keith Tandy recorded just one tackle.

Panthers cornerback Daryl Worley made his eight start of the season at outside corner against the Atlanta Falcons, but was eventually replaced by Kevon Seymour. Worley played just 19 snaps to Seymour’s 44 one week after he played 53 snaps to Seymour’s 14. Worley finished with three tackles in a 20-17 win over the Falcons.

Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Adam Jones made six tackles in a 23-7 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Jones has 17 combined tackles on the year.

Offensive guard Quinton Spain was inactive for the Tennessee Titans Sunday in the team’s 23-20 win over the Baltimore Ravens with a turf toe injury. Spain is listed as doubtful for Sunday’s matchup against the Bengals.

Los Angeles Rams Wide receiver Tavon Austin racked up 43 yards from scrimmage in the team’s 51-17 win over the New York Giants. Austin rushed for 34 yards on six carries and had nine reception yards.

Seattle Seahawks linebacker Terence Garvin recorded one tackle in the team’s 17-14 loss to the Washington Redskins.

Last week, the San Francisco 49ers re-signed defensive lineman Noble Nwachukwu to the practice squad and the Detroit Lions signed offensive lineman Don Barclay after he was released by the Green Bay Packers after six seasons with the team.
