WVU Lands Ahmad

The West Virginia basketball program landed it's top target in the class of 2015 Wednesday when Cleveland (Oh.) Shaker Heights forward Esa Ahmad committed to Bob Huggins' program.
Ahmad is the third commitment in the 2015 class joining James "Beetle" Bolden and Levi Cook was a priority for the Mountaineers since early in the process.

Ahmad tweeted out, "I have officially committed to the #WVU!"
WVSports.com also gained knowledge of his commitment earlier today from his father, Ibby Ahmad, who listed these reasons for his son selecting West Virginia.
"The staff, the players that will be there on arrival and the proximity," he said. "Overall the feel for Morgantown and it's a great coach to learn under."
Last night Ahmad received an in-home visit from Head Coach Bob Huggins that went extremely well.
Ahmad is the top player on Huggins' board. The six-foot-seven, 210-pounder is rated a four-star prospect by Rivals.com and is considered to be one of the most versatile players in his class with the ability to play almost every spot on the floor.
"Coach Huggins said that Esa will see time at the two, three and the one at times," his father said.
Things had been trending in West Virginia's direction since this past weekend when Ahmad officially visited Morgantown and left impressed with the program. The versatile forward then hosted the coaching staff for an in home visit Tuesday evening before ending his recruitment.
Ahmad had offers from programs across the country but narrowed his list to a final five that included West Virginia, Ohio State, Maryland, Oregon and Wisconsin.
Ahmad is expected to sign his letter of intent in November.
