2025 CB Tiller adds first offer from West Virginia after visit

Richmond (Va.) Glen Allen 2025 defensive back Kamden Tiller got to experience a lot on his first trip to see the West Virginia football program for a junior day event.

During the course of the day the 6-foot, 160-pound, defensive back was able to get a real feel for not only the coaching staff but the current players on the team as well.

He was able to spend one-on-one time with both in order to pick their brain on how the program operates on a day-to-day basis.

“What stood out to me was that they’re all about their players and go the extra mile to help them succeed on the field and in the classroom,” he said.

Tiller also was able to experience a photo shoot and learn more about all of the things that the football program has to offer such as strength and conditioning, nutrition and recovery. Tiller also was able to participate in a photo shoot and watch the Mountaineers take down No. 3 Kansas.

“This was my first visit and it exceeded my expectations,” he said.

Tiller spent time talking with head coach Neal Brown, secondary coach ShaDon Brown and several other coaches and the staff made it clear that his film and potential were exciting. But it was the co-defensive coordinator Brown that gave him the good news.

It was made even more special because it was the first scholarship offer for Tiller.

“When he told me about the offer my face just lit up with a smile and went to hug my mom,” he said.

The Mountaineers are recruiting Tiller as a cornerback and like his playmaking ability and how he would fit in with the West Virginia defensive scheme.

“Coach ShaDon explained to me how he coaches to the individual's playing style and not a certain preference he likes,” he said.

Tiller plans to come back to West Virginia for another visit but hasn’t gotten anything set in the meantime but wants to find a school that offers what he wants in a program.

“Has to feel like a good fit for me, meaning a place I feel I can excel at and produce along with recognizable support,” he said.
