2026 DL Tavian Branch excited about West Virginia offer

Taylor (Pa.) Riverside 2026 defensive lineman Tavian Branch has a handful of power four offers at this point in his recruitment including one from West Virginia.

Branch, 6-foot-4, 300-pounds, had been in contact with the Mountaineers for a little over a month with defensive line coach AJ Jackson and assistant line coach Jaysen Thompson leading the charge.

And it was Thompson that pulled the trigger on the scholarship offer.

“They are great coaches and great people,” he said.

The Rivals.com three-star prospect is still learning more about the Mountaineers but from what he does know has been impressed with what the school has to offer.

“West Virginia is a good program and one that is on the rise,” he said.

Schools are targeting Branch as a defensive tackle given his size and what he brings to the table on the field but also have been impressed with his leadership qualities.

Branch has already visited Penn State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers and Syracuse but is hoping to make it to more including potentially a stop at West Virginia.

There isn’t a rush for any type of decision considering that time is on his side, but Branch wants to find a school that has the right fit for him culturally as well as position coaches that he can trust.

“So, they can develop me and get me to the next level,” he said.
