2027 athlete Driver talks West Virginia offer
Danville (Ky.) Boyle County 2027 tight end Seneca Driver is early in the process with his recruitment but already has started to attract some major scholarship offers.
Driver, 6-foot-6, 205-pounds, has already collected offers from West Virginia, Kentucky and Eastern Kentucky after wrapping up his sophomore season.
The Mountaineers jumped into the mix in February led by the efforts of secondary coach ShaDon Brown who got in contact with his coach to inform him.
While it’s still too early to really develop any sort of relationship with the coaches he is excited to see how things continue to progress with the Big 12 Conference program now in the mix.
“I think it is a great opportunity,” he said.
Driver visited Morgantown for a one-day camp and left impressed with the experience especially getting to work with tight ends coach Blaine Stewart.
"I thought the campus was really nice and the coaches are really good and help a lot," he said.
The underclassman is still learning more about the program but is aware of the success that the program has had on the field and in producing good players.
College programs are targeting Driver as a tight end, but he also has the ability to play on the defensive side as an edge rusher or even an athlete. He has drawn the attention of coaches due to his combination of size and skill along with his overall work ethic and personality.
Driver plans to set several visits as his recruitment continues to proceed but for now, he is taking things slow because time is still very much on his side.
Driver wants to eventually find a college program that will address his needs both on the field and on the academic side of things.
