In an effort to bring you in-depth insight on the opposing teams that West Virginia plays, WVSports.com goes Behind Enemy Lines for an in-depth look at the Big 12 conference matchup with Texas Tech.

What can you expect from the Red Raiders? Well we contacted an authority on the subject in RedRaiderSports.com writer Ben Golan.

1. What is the read on this Texas Tech team? Some ups and downs, but all in all to be expected in year one under a new coach?

Texas Tech has just been inconsistent, especially on the road. Since beating Oklahoma State in early October, the Red Raiders have lost 3 in a row. In two of those games @ Baylor and @ Kansas they actually had 4th quarter leads but the defense fell apart in situations where a stop would have won the game.

None of this should be too shocking as you alluded to, it's year 1 under Matt Wells and this team has consistently finished in the bottom half of the Big 12 this decade. It will take winning key recruiting battles and development by Wells' staff to get this team where it needs to be.
