Class of 2017 Recruiting Exit Interviews: Isaiah Hardy
With much of the class of 2017 set to make their way to Morgantown in May or early June, WVSports.com catches up with the class to perform an exit interview with the recruiting process and get to know each of the prospects a little better on a personal level. Today, we speak with Scranton (Pa.) Lackawanna College offensive lineman Isaiah Hardy.
Hardy, 6-foot-7, 330-pounds, received his first offer from West Virginia in February the year prior to signing and the Mountaineers remained at the top of the list throughout. While he would receive other scholarships, Hardy took a late official visit to Morgantown and committed to the Mountaineers only to sign a few weeks later. He has three years to play two when he arrives in Morgantown this summer.
What number will you wear?
IH: I haven’t talked to the coaches yet about that but I would like 72. If I don’t get that then 78.
Favorite Sports Teams?
IH: The Carolina Panthers. And in basketball I like the New Orleans Pelicans.
Who was the runner up? Why?
IH: I liked everybody that recruited me but as soon as West Virginia offered me every other day coach Scott was in touch with me and the rest of the coaches were in touch with me. I felt like they actually cared and I wanted West Virginia and if that didn’t work out I was trying to figure out where else I’d go.
