West Virginia added another key piece to its future puzzle up front when Portsmouth (Oh.) Sciotoville East offensive lineman Blaine Scott committed to the Mountaineers.

Scott, 6-foot-4, 299-pounds, was originally committed to Mississippi but elected to back off that pledge in late July and the Mountaineers immediately shot up his list of options. West Virginia only offered a few days prior to his decommitment from the Rebels, but he made a qucik turnaround trip to Morgantown.

It wasn’t his first time visiting campus, but it was certainly his best.

That visit stuck out to Scott in large part because he was able to get a complete picture view of the campus as well as the atmosphere and spent time with offensive line coach Joe Wickline getting an idea of how he would fit into the program on the interior line. That visit in large part helped to lead to his parting of ways with Mississippi and West Virginia was there to benefit.

Since that point, Scott made three more visits to West Virginia including twice for games early into the season.
