DB West sees a lot to like about West Virginia on official visit
North Potomac (Md.) Quince Orchard 2025 defensive back Aydan West was excited to take his official visit to West Virginia and the trip only served to reinforce his thoughts on the program.
West, 6-foot-0, 167-pounds, enjoyed the experience as he was able to see more of what Morgantown had to offer and spend time with players that are currently on the team.
He also was given the chance to meet with several people from the business school to get an idea of the academic offerings.
“I loved the visit. It was a great experience,” he said.
The Rivals.com three-star prospect was in constant communication throughout the weekend with secondary coach ShaDon Brown, graduate assistant Jevaughn Codlin and analyst Tre Bell and each of them made sure that he was enjoying himself during the course of his time on campus.
“The message from the coaches is that they want me there,” he said.
West Virginia sees West as a fit at multiple positions in the back end of the defense which is appealing to him because he is a player brings versatility to the table. He was impressed with the plan that the coaches mapped out for him on how they could get the most out of his skill set.
“I think I would fit in the defense well,” he said.
Cornerback TJ Crandall served as the host for West, and he also was able to meet with the strength and conditioning staff to get an idea of how things operate on that side of things.
The Maryland native is scheduled to head to Virginia, Cincinnati and Wake Forest for official visits but admitted that the Mountaineers made a strong impression on him.
“WVU is a place I could see myself,” he said.
