Knapper commits to WVU

West Virginia snagged its second commitment from inside its own state borders Saturday when Charleston (W.Va.) South Charleston point guard Brandon Knapper selected the Mountaineers Saturday afternoon.
Knapper, 6-foot, 160-pounds, committed to the Mountaineers over offers from Marshall and East Tennessee State while taking another unofficial visit to Morgantown for the match up against Oklahoma.

"Yes I committed," he said.
The 2016 prospect becomes the second in-state product to commit to the Mountaineers for next year's cycle joining Wheeling (W.Va.) Wheeling Central guard Chase Harler.
The Mountaineers first offered Knapper in early June and he was in attendance for the elite camp in August and declared West Virginia as the leader in his recruitment.
He cited the coaching staff and the level of play in the Big 12 Conference as reasons for his decision.
"I was very excited. I like the conference that it's in and I like coach (Bob) Huggins," Knapper said.
During his sophomore campaign, Knapper averaged over 19 points and 5 assists per game for South Charleston earning Class AAA all-state first team honors.
The combo guard also had interest from Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina State, Missouri and Kentucky, among several other programs.
