Niehaus on board

West Virginia picked up their 16th commitment Saturday night when Cincinnati (Oh.) Colerain offensive tackle Nathan Niehaus announced his pledge to the Mountaineers.
Niehaus, 6-foot-6, 255-pounds, earned one of the MVP honors at the one-day camp Saturday afternoon where he earned an offer from the Mountaineers. Later that night the talented offensive tackle, who also could play tight end, had decided to end his recruitment.

"Very proud and blessed to officially announce my commitment to West Virginia University," he tweeted.
Niehaus had attracted offers from several programs including power five schools Illinois and Louisville and had said coming into the visit that West Virginia was a program that was high on his list. The offensive tackle toured the facilities and met with the coaches prior to his performance in the camp.
Defensive line coach Bruce Tall served as the lead recruiter for Niehaus and the two had been in close contact in the weeks leading up to the one-day camp.
"I've always liked West Virginia since I was a kid. They have a really good team and they are consistent," Niehaus previously informed WVSports.com.
The commitment from Niehaus gives West Virginia a total of three offensive line commitments in the class along with Byesville (Oh.) Meadowbrook offensive guard Josh Sills and Pittsburgh (Pa.) North Hills offensive guard Jacob Buccigrossi.
WVSports.com will have more on this commitment including a full interview from Niehaus.
