Reviewing WVU basketball classes 2012-13

Williams, Watkins and Macon were all part of the 2013 class.
Williams, Watkins and Macon were all part of the 2013 class.

Since WVSports.com has examined the previous recruiting classes in football, we now turn our attention to the hardwood and look at how the recruiting classes under head coach Bob Huggins have fared.

For the purpose of this report, we take a look at the recruiting classes starting in 2012 from 2013 given the fact that the majority of the 2013 class has either left the program or are in their final year of eligibility.

2012 class:

(three recruits: 1 four-star, 2 three-stars)

State Breakdown: 1 Ohio, 1 North Carolina, 1 Indiana)

The rundown: Macon originally signed with West Virginia in the class of 2012, which makes it almost hard to believe that he still has a year of eligiblity left but it has been a long road for the Columbus product. He attended prep school in 2013 and then enrolled at West Virginia the following year and redshirted. From there, it has been an up and down career as Macon has had to cope with the loss of his mother away from the court and some inconsistencies away from it. Through three years, the light started to turn on down the stretch finishing with around a double-double per game over the final dozen or so games of the season. He finished the year with 6.3 points and 4.2 rebounds. Macon elected to forego his final year of eligiblity.
