Smith, Austin ready for tonight

New York, NY - After making plays together in Morgantown for the last four years, former West Virginia stars, Geno Smith and Tavon Austin are set for the 2013 NFL Draft at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Smith, the most talked about player in the draft and Austin, the player climbing up every team's draft board, will both likely be drafted tonight during the first round.

The former WVU gunslinger, Smith is ready for the next step.
"I've been preparing for this process since the end of my senior year, and I know that once this draft process is complete, there will be an entirely different journey," said Smith, "I'm ready to see what team I'm on and get my hands on the playbook, work with my wideouts and do all the things I was accustom to doing at West Virginia."
Projected to land anywhere between second overall and somewhere in the second round there isn't a ton of teams with quarterback needs. Smith has taken a number of visits throughout the long process, which has him thinking he will end up in the first round.
"I've enjoyed every single one of my visits from Kansas City onto Buffalo to Philadelphia to New York, all those teams showed interest, now it is just a matter of who takes me," Smith said.
As for Austin, hype around the do-it-all playmaker will not get any strong. Being able to catch, run and return the football well, makes Austin a can't miss prospect.
"He's one of the two most explosive players in the draft," said NFL Network Draft Analyst Mike Mayock
Proven as a slot receiver throughout career, showcased as a running back against Oklahoma and totaled five touchdown returns during his time at WVU, Austin is set to translate extremely well to the NFL.
"Pretty much the teams see that, they see I'm a special player," said Austin, "They always tell me that they can't coach what I try to do. I'm blessed for them to see that because they think I can help them win."
Most believe Tavon Austin won't get passed the New York Jets at ninth overall. Because the Jets have two picks in the top thirteen, there is a situation where Smith and Austin will be reunited as a quarterback, receiver tandem.
"I mean if that happens it would be fun," said Smith
