Early signing day is approaching and West Virginia welcomed a number of their commitments to campus that are expected to sign during the period including Columbia (Md.) Wilde Lake safety Osita Smith.

Smith, 6-foot-2, 195-pounds, was a priority for the Mountaineers during the recruiting process and he has repaid that persistence by remaining solid throughout.

“It means a lot. I’ve always wanted to go to West Virginia and I used to watch Tavon Austin because he’s from my area. It was pretty much a no-brainer for me,” he said.
