West Virginia adds commitment from Baylor transfer WR Ellis

West Virginia has landed a need in the transfer portal with a commitment from Baylor wide receiver transfer Jaylen Ellis.

Ellis, 6-foot-3, 184-pounds, gives the Mountaineers another option at wide receiver after appearing in 13 games during his time with the Bears. He hauled in 5 passes for 141 yards and a touchdown.

Selected West Virginia over offers from Auburn, Utah and Texas A&M after entering the transfer portal.

The former U.S. Army All-American Bowl selection out of high school Ellis also had offers from Texas, Michigan, Tennessee and Arizona prior to selecting the Bears. He was clocked with 10.4 speed during his time in high school and has impressed when given opportunities during his time with Baylor.

The Texas native took an official visit to West Virginia and selected the program after entering the transfer portal April 17.

Ellis will have two years left in his career.
