West Virginia adds Hunt

Hunt has committed to West Virginia.

West Virginia has added another commitment in the secondary with the pledge of Virginia Beach (Va.) Bishop Sullivan cornerback Chris Hunt.

Hunt, 6-foot-1, 163-pounds, selected West Virginia over offers from East Carolina and Charlotte as well as interest from a long list of other schools such as Virginia Tech, Virginia and Duke.

The versatile defensive back earned an offer from the Mountaineers earlier this month after impressing the coaching staff with a strong performance at the 7-on-7 camp in late June.

Hunt was a key member of the Bishop Sullivan team that won the West Virginia 7-on-7 championship this summer.

Hunt was one of the top 15 performers on the defensive side of the ball at the Rivals Camp Series stop in Charlotte this spring impressing not only with his physicality but his overall length and anticipation.

A Rivals.com three-star prospect, Hunt has the ability to play cornerback or safety at the next level and his versatility will be an asset in the West Virginia scheme. He finished his junior season with over 30 tackles and four interceptions.

Overall Hunt becomes the 13th commitment for West Virginia in the class of 2017 and is the sixth defensive back for the Mountaineers in the current cycle.

WVSports.com will have more with Hunt in the near future.
