West Virginia lands Ohio DL

West Virginia continued its momentum on the recruiting trail Saturday afternoon by picking up a commitment from Huber Heights (Oh.) Wayne defensive tackle Robert Landers.
Landers, 6-foot-1, 270-pounds, visited West Virginia for the Mountaineers match up against Kansas where he received his scholarship offer. The senior prospect wouldn't wait long to accept the commitment becoming the 21st pledge for the Mountaineers in the class of 2015.

The defensive lineman fills a need for West Virginia in the 2015 class and becomes the second to commit to the Mountaineers this week after Fulton (Miss.) Itawamba C.C. defensive end Larry Jefferson committed to the program Wednesday.
To this point Landers has flown under the radar with his recruitment, but the West Virginia staff saw enough in person to pull the trigger on the rising senior. Given his size, Landers has the ability to play several positions up front but will likely begin his career on the interior of the defensive line.
Offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson served as the lead recruiter.
In total, Landers is the third defensive lineman to commit to the Mountaineers along with Oviedo (Fla.) nose guard Alec Shriner.
WVSports.com will have more on this commitment including a full interview with Landers along with analysis of the pledge.
