With much of the class of 2017 set to make their way to Morgantown in May or early June, WVSports.com catches up with the class to perform an exit interview with the recruiting process and get to know each of the prospects a little better on a personal level. Today, we speak with El Dorado (Kan.) Butler C.C. cornerback Fontez Davis.
Davis, 6-foot, 194-pounds, is a prospect that West Virginia first showed interest in during the final weeks before signing day but things actually didn't pick up until March. That's when Davis made an official visit to Morgantown and received an offer from the Mountaineers only to sign with the football program a few days later.
Apple or Android?
FD: Definitely Apple.
What surprised you the most on your first visit to West Virginia?
FD: I’m pretty sure you’ve heard this way more than once but I’m going to say the mountains. I had never seen that side of nature before so it was all new to me.
What games or road trips are you looking forward to?
FD: Texas Tech to go against Octavious Morgan and Tony Jones because I played with them at Butler and want to go against them. We all learned from each other and taught each other a lot. The other game is Kansas State because Byron Pringle. He taught me a lot coming up and that’s going to be a good game.
