Jennings on board

West Virginia landed one of its biggest remaining targets on the board Wednesday when Stafford (Va.) Colonial Forge wide receiver Gary Jennings selected the Mountaineers at a signing day event at his school.
Jennings, 6-foot-2, 205-pounds, had been a priority for West Virginia since the Mountaineers initially offered a scholarship during the spring and made multiple visits to Morgantown over the last year including an official visit during the Jan. 23 weekend. He also was one of the select prospects that attended the Mountaineers Showtime Event in late July.

The Rivals.com three-star had narrowed his list to West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina and Notre Dame after taking official visits to all four of those schools as well an additionally trip to Wisconsin.
He also held offers from programs such as Nebraska, Duke, Vanderbilt and Boston College.
Wide receivers coach Lonnie Galloway handled the recruitment of Jennings and built a strong relationship over the process that played a significant factor in the Mountaineers pulling the versatile athlete out of the Commonwealth.
Both Galloway and head coach Dana Holgorsen reiterated to Jennings that he was at the top of the board at the Z wide receiver spot throughout the latter course of his recruitment and the West Virginia wide receivers coach made multiple visits to see Jennings.
Jennings is slated to play outside wide receiver for West Virginia, which was a priority position in the 2015 cycle due to the graduation of Kevin White and Mario Alford.
Overall, Jennings becomes the 20th commitment for West Virginia in the 2015 cycle and the third wide receiver along with Miramar (Fla.) wide receiver Jovon Durante and and Scranton (Pa.) Lackawanna C.C. wide receiver Ka'Raun White.
