It didn’t take long for Iowa Western defensive line coach Aaron Terry to see the potential that S.L. McCall had when he arrived in the fall last year.

Although undersized at 190-pounds, the athletic defender displayed the quick twitch and get off that made the coaches at Iowa Western interested in McCall from the beginning. But he was out of place at linebacker so the coaches dropped him down to his more natural spot at defensive end.
