WVU adds JUCO DB
West Virginia has landed another prospect from the junior college ranks when safety Josh Norwood committed to the football program.
Norwood, 5-foot-11, 185-pounds, originally committed to Ohio State out of high school and is from Valdosta, Georgia.
After redshirting during his first season in Columbus, the former Rivals.com three-star prospect recorded eight tackles in 11 contests before electing to transfer.
Norwood ended up at a Northwest Mississippi C.C. where he received a scholarship offer from West Virginia cornerbacks coach Doug Belk. The assistant is also originally from the Valdosta area and established a connection with the defensive back, who could play safety or cornerback in Morgantown.

Set to graduate in December, Norwood will have two years left to play two at the college level. He has recorded 21 tackles in five games for the Rangers.
Out of high school Norwood had offers from Wisconsin, Minnesota, Purdue, Duke, Cincinnati, Middle Tennessee State and several others in addition to the Buckeyes.
Norwood becomes the 18th commitment for West Virginia in the 2018 class and represents the second defensive back pledge in the class behind fellow Valdosta (Ga.) product Jayce Rogers.
