West Virginia wide receiver Traylon Ray will be entering the transfer portal, opening the door to continue his college football career elsewhere.

Ray, a highly regarded prospect from Tallahassee, Florida, joined the Mountaineers as part of the 2023 recruiting class.

This season the sophomore had his year cut short by injury. He has two years of eligibility remaining.

Ray caught 46 passes for 747 yards and 7 TDs in his two seasons with the Mountaineers.

While his departure leaves a gap in the wide receiver room, it also creates opportunities for other players on the roster to step up. West Virginia will now look to bolster its depth through development and the transfer portal itself.
