Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage 2026 wide receiver Jamar Denson had been to West Virginia before earning a scholarship offer after a strong camp performance.

But with the coaching change there is always uncertainty.

Not anymore.

Denson, 5-foot-10, 182-pounds, received word that inside wide receivers coach Blaine Stewart was re-offering the talented pass catcher after a conversation with the assistant.

“He said they liked my tape, and he was there when I was initially there at camp. I was happy about the re-offer. WVU is one of my top schools,” he said.

Stewart is the only coach on the new staff that Denson has talked to at this stage, but he has informed him that they want to get him back on campus for a visit to meet the rest of the group.

And that is something he is very interested in doing.

“Absolutely I’m coming back to West Virginia,” he said.

Since his initial offer from the Mountaineers, Denson’s recruitment has continued to develop, and he is weighing all of his opportunities at this stage with an open mind. Other schools that have offered include Oklahoma, Colorado, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh and several more.

Each of the programs are targeting him as a wide receiver and have been impressed with his overall skill set.

“They love my route running, strong hands and exceptional ball-tracking skills,” he said. “And they love the way I get open and win in one-on-one contested catches.”

Denson is looking into a number of visits in the winter and spring and at this point is taking the process slow. But he is happy to know exactly where he fits into the picture with the Mountaineers.
