West Orange (N.J.) Seton Hall Prep 2027 quarterback Kahden Davis already held a scholarship offer from West Virginia but came back to campus to see the game-day environment for the Kansas game.

Davis, 6-foot-0, 190-pounds, was impressed with the atmosphere in the stands and while he had heard things about the program he was able to see it all firsthand.

“I got to experience it from the second I got there,” he said.

The 2027 signal caller was able to meet with many of the coaches on the staff while seeing the player’s lounge, team room, and locker rooms.

The connection that Davis has built with the coaches has continued to develop over time and he was able to sit down with quarterbacks coach Tyler Allen along with meeting with defensive line coach AJ Jackson and assistant Jaysen Thompson.

There also was a natural connection with Spears coach Tre Bell considering that he played for Davis’s high school head coach Bill Fitzgerald in high school.

“We are continuing to build our relationship,” he said. “…All the coaches made me feel welcome.”

As far as the offense Davis believes he is a strong fit for the scheme and likes the fact that the Mountaineers are both efficient and effective on offense on top of utilizing the quarterback in a variety of ways.

“They count on their quarterback to make plays with his feet and his arm which I love,” Davis said. “Even though I’m known as a pro-style quarterback, I’m proud of the way I can extend plays with my legs, and I got to watch Garrett Greene do that.”

Davis definitely plans to return for another look at West Virginia, but when it comes to a date the signal-caller is still trying to find when he will be able to do that because most of his high school games are on Saturday.

Still, Davis is enjoying his recruitment and has played well so far this season demonstrating what has led to a number of schools already extending a scholarship offer at this stage of the process.

“A lot of college coaches know I can throw the ball well but hadn’t really seen me run the ball and be mobile,” he said. “I’ve definitely shown that within the first few games.”
