West Virginia commitment Smyrna (De.) running back Leddie Brown has been bumped to a four-star prospect in the most recent Rivals.com recruiting rankings.
Brown, 6-foot-1, 190-pounds, initially committed to the Mountaineers in April after receiving his first offer from the program during the summer of his eighth grade year. Running backs coach Tony Dews served as the lead recruiter after the departure of JaJuan Seider, while head coach Dana Holgorsen also played a pivotal role.
The newly minted four-star prospect has made over a dozen visits to Morgantown in the past several years but has only seen his profile continue to rise with recent scholarship offers from Alabama, Ohio State and UCLA.
Brown held offers from Florida, Tennessee, North Carolina, Maryland and several others prior to his commitment to the Mountaineers.
The running back impressed at his stop at the Rivals Three Stripe Camp Series, earning high marks for his performance.
"Quarterbacks loved throwing the ball to Brown because he made it so easy for them to get the ball to him. He has very reliable hands and runs excellent routes coming out of the backfield. There weren't any linebackers that could stop Brown when the ball is thrown well. He's also gotten much bigger and stronger over the last few months, which should help them contribute earlier in his college career. "
