West Virginia landed another valuable piece to its future in Holly Springs (N.C.) wide receiver Bryce Wheaton after he announced his commitment Wednesday evening.
Wheaton, 6-foot-3, 200-pounds, selected the Mountaineers over a number of scholarship offers including Louisville, Virginia Tech, Missouri, Washington State, Syracuse and East Carolina.
The Rivals.com three-star prospect had narrowed his choices down to West Virginia, Louisville, Missouri and East Carolina earlier this month before selecting the Mountaineers.
The talented athlete visited Morgantown last week and things shifted in the favor of the Mountaineers after he was able to sit down with the coaching staff and get a clear plan for how they planned to use him at the wide receiver spot.
